I love the smirk on her face in this shot.
One of my hard drives was not working for some time and although I know I should have taken it to be fixed, I could not stand the thought of the technician telling me that there was nothing he could do and all of my photos were lost. So, I chose the much more optimistic approach: Denial. I am sure that says something about me that would keep a room full of shrinks entertained – but I just needed time to process this idea of this loss. Well, thankfully my neighbor is a techie and within just a few hours had recovered all of the information (Memories) on this particular hard drive.
I was elated.
Yes, I do know that I should have my information (precious memories) backed up. I KNOW this. I have heard the horror stories from far too many of my photographer friends. But, I must say in my defense, this hard drive WAS my back up for several folders of images!!! So, in light of all that, I am heavily researching my own offsite storage facility that has its own back up. Suggestions welcome!!!
Anywho, this was one of the images from a spur of the moment session. I could not be happier – despite the heat, we had a wonderful time at the Botanical Gardens in Knoxville.

Lynda Naranjo - I’ve become a bit obsessive about backing up my photos … but I’m always afraid I’ll lose photos anyways! So glad your friend was able to recover all your images for you.
Happy New Year! xo
