Boredom Buster | Just Add Water

Sometimes, you just need to have one of those days.

You know the ones, when you just need to drop everything on “The Plan” and just go outside and play.

I love that something so low in price like chalk can bring hours of enjoyment for both of us as well as the other children and moms on our street.

Here is one way to have fun, be creative and make memories with your little ones.

So what do you need?

1. Chalk

2. An old paint brush

3. Water

Collect the kids and your supplies and just start drawing.

I have found that the thicker the chalk, the creamer it is as a paint.

It takes a little bit longer to dry but I love the change that takes place from the original drawing.

Have fun with with your little ones.

Paint the roads for cars. Imagine stars in the sky and swim through underwater adventures.

This sweet time will pass all to fast.

Enjoy the little moments because they are the grand adventures in life.

Prayers for Children | MOD Squad

One of my favorite blogs is MODSquad because it is a community of women who gather together to encourage one another in this journey called “motherhood” – specifically, we are all Mothers of Daughters.  I stumbled on this group when it was just beginning and have been a loyal follower since.  If you have never been there, I would encourage you to make a cup of tea and sit down and explore the site. ( there is also a site for MOB’s – Mothers of Boys)

All us embark on school – some of us homeschool, some unschool, some use a  co-op and still others go a more traditional route.  Regardless of how our children are taught, they need, no the deserve, us to spend time on our knees praying for them.  Life is so much more complicated than it was for us and an even more important reason for us to spend time in the Word interceding for them. Here is a prayer that we can all use to pray blessing over our girls and intercede in the Heavenly realms for them – to make a change.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the gift of motherhood and for entrusting us to raise these little girls in Your name.  As they begin a new school year, we pray that their lives would be grounded in You.  May they live for You, reflect Your love to others, and call on Your name in times of joy and times of sadness.  May they grow in wisdom and make memories that will stay with them for a lifetime.  Jesus we pray patience for all teaching and joy in all friendships.  Help us as mothers to walk along them in this journey, pointing out their strengths and helping them grow.  In both good times and stressful moments, let our parenting words glorify You so that we may nurture their academic experience and enhance their faith.

Amen.
